Auto Join Pro
Joins, cuts and tidies how walls, floors, columns and beams meet across
your whole model in one run. Instead of joining elements two at a time
and hoping the cut goes the right way, you describe which categories
should join in a few rules, preview exactly what will change, and apply
it all in one click - and one undo.
How to use
Open Auto Join Pro from Revit with your project open - it reads the
model's categories, families and types automatically.
Under Run setup, pick the scope: the entire model, the active
view, or your current selection.
Pick a workflow: create missing joins and put the cut order right,
cut geometry, switch the order of existing joins, repair joins,
unjoin, or remove existing cuts.
Choose how the cutter is decided: by rule order (left cuts right),
by category priority, or by a numeric parameter on the elements.
Add Geometry rules: each rule pairs two categories, and you can
narrow either side to a family or a type. Only pairs that match an
enabled rule are touched. The swap button flips which side cuts.
Click Preview to see every planned change - counts, timings and
a pair-by-pair list - without touching the model.
Click the run button to apply. Results appear on the Results
tab, and the whole run is one undo step in Revit if you change your
mind.
Good to know
Six workflows are included: join and enforce order, cut geometry,
switch the order of existing joins, repair joins (unjoin and rejoin),
unjoin, and remove existing geometry cuts.
Nothing is joined or cut on a near miss. Elements that merely sit
close together are only candidates; a join or cut happens only where
the elements genuinely intersect or share a face, and everything
rejected by that check is listed so you can see why.
Cut geometry only applies where the elements truly overlap. Pairs
that clash but can't be cut are reported as unsupported instead of
being changed.
An All categories wildcard can stand on either side of a rule,
and the plugin warns you before an all-to-all scan of a full model so
a heavy run is never a surprise.
Your rules and settings are saved with the plugin, so the setup you
refine for a project is there the next time you open it.
The results report shows what was planned, what was changed, what was
skipped or rejected, how many elements were scanned, and the exact
element pairs behind any issue.
Large runs are processed in batches for speed, but Revit still records
the whole run as a single undo item.
