MEP Routes
Draw the path, get the system. Select a connected run in Revit and MEP Routes builds it into real duct, pipe, cable tray, or conduit — complete with fittings — or turns it into a coordinated bundle of several services running together, sized and placed exactly the way you want.
How to use
- In Revit, select one connected, non-branching chain of detail or model lines, arcs, ellipses, or splines — open, or forming a closed loop. This is the path your run will follow.
- Open MEP Routes from BimCode.
- If the path has curved sections, set how long you want each straight segment to be.
- Add the services you need — duct, pipe, cable tray, conduit — and set each one's type, system, and size.
- Arrange them in the cross-section: drag services into place, or click Auto-arrange bundle to lay them out for you. While dragging, MEP Routes snaps to centres, matching edges, and your set clearance, and shows live, editable dimensions to the nearest service.
- For precise alignment, mark one service as the alignment base, then align another to it — top, middle, bottom, left, centre, or right — or place it beside or below the base at a set clearance.
- Choose the reference level and create the route.
Good to know
- Duplicate or remove any service from the list at any time.
- Your layout is saved automatically for each project — positions, sizes, alignment, snapping, units, clearance, and even the current view. Adding a service, duplicating one, or reopening MEP Routes never rearranges what's already placed; only Auto-arrange bundle does that.
- Measurement fields commit when you press Enter or click away; Escape restores the previous value.
- Work in feet, inches, metres, centimetres, or millimetres — MEP Routes starts you off in your project's own units.
- The cross-section view supports scroll-wheel and button zoom, panning, and a zoom-to-fit button.
- Creating a route happens in a single step, so one Undo removes the whole thing.
