Sheet Lint
Reviews your sheets for drawing-standard issues and lists exactly what to fix before you publish.
How to use
- Open Sheet Lint from Revit with your project open — it reads the current project's sheets automatically.
- Under Scope, pick which sheets to check. Every sheet is selected by default.
- Review the rulebook on the left. Each check can be set to Error, Warn, or Off, and most have their own settings, like which styles are approved or which title block fields are required.
- Click Run checks. Sheets are checked one at a time, and results appear as each one finishes.
- Watch the verdict at the top of the screen. It shows whether the set is ready to issue, ready with warnings, or blocked by errors, plus a colored chip for every sheet checked.
- Select any finding in the list, then click Show in Revit to open that view and select the exact elements to fix.
- Click Export report once you're done, to save every finding to a spreadsheet file you can share or keep as a record.
Good to know
- Your rulebook — which checks are on, and their settings — is remembered for this project, so you only set it up once.
- You can stop a run early with Stop after this sheet and still keep the results found so far.
- The rulebook runs seven checks:
- Tag coverage — doors, windows, rooms and other categories you choose should carry a tag wherever they're visible on a sheet.
- Dimension coverage — plans, sections and elevations need dimensions.
- Text styles — notes must use approved text styles.
- Line styles — detail lines must use approved line styles.
- Title block & sheet — required fields are filled in, nothing is left as a placeholder, and there's exactly one title block.
- View naming — no Revit default view names (like "Section 3") on issued sheets.
- Overlapping annotations — tags and notes that sit on top of each other on paper.
- A sheet with no errors is ready to issue. Warnings are worth a look but don't block issuing; any error does, until it's fixed.
- The exported report lists every finding with its sheet, the check that caught it, its location, and a plain description of the problem.
