Multi Loop to One
Split a Revit floor, ceiling or footprint roof with disconnected sketch regions into separate native elements. Preview every boundary, choose whether to preserve or fill inner sketch openings, and keep each source type or select another loaded type. The new elements retain the source's native boundary curves and level.
Use it when several disconnected slabs, ceiling areas or roof footprints share one element and need to be selected, typed or scheduled individually.
How to use
- Open Multi Loop to One from BimCode's plugin list inside a Revit project.
- Choose Entire project, Current selection or Active view, select the categories, and click Scan & preview.
- Review the ready and blocked rows. Click a row to inspect its boundary, or choose Show in Revit to locate the original.
- Choose the boundary treatment and output types. Leave Delete original elements after creation unchecked to keep the originals, or check it to replace them after the new elements have been verified. Scan again after changing any option.
- Check the ready sources, click Review creation, and confirm with Create elements. One Revit Undo restores the entire batch.
Openings and originals
- One region; preserve inner openings keeps each region's inner sketch openings. Separate filled islands become separate elements.
- Exactly one loop; fill inner openings fills inner sketch openings and produces only the outer boundaries. Nested islands are absorbed into those filled areas. Separate Opening elements and hosted void cuts are different from sketch openings and are not explicitly removed by this option.
- Keeping originals creates coincident copies: both originals and outputs contribute to schedules and quantities until you resolve the overlap.
- Replacement checks the new boundaries, types and levels before deleting the saved originals. Unexpected deletion of hosted or unrelated elements cancels and rolls back the batch. Tags, hosted families, joins and external associations are not automatically reassigned.
Supported elements
Floors, ceilings, roofs and ramps are detected. Splitting needs an editable, closed sketch exposed by Revit. Supported floors, ceilings and footprint roofs can be processed; ramps and other roof forms without that sketch are listed with a reason and remain unchanged. Pinned or grouped elements and shape-edited floors are blocked. Slopes, sketch constraints or model ownership may prevent Revit from accepting a split; a failed source rolls back the whole batch.
The plugin preserves native curve definitions rather than rebuilding the model from the sampled preview. It separates regions within one element; it does not merge different elements or cut a single connected region into smaller pieces.
Settings and help
Save scope, categories, boundary treatment, original handling and type choices for the next launch. Import and export JSON settings to reuse that setup in another project; absent or ambiguous type names are flagged before creation.
The Help button opens the full guide inside the plugin. The sidebar's Test original deletion runs temporary floor checks and rolls back their changes. It reports checks for the active Revit runtime, not blanket support for every model condition.
The catalog package builds against Revit 2025 for Revit 2025, 2026 and 2027. Open Help inside the plugin for the full user guide.
